Kristy + Buffet = ?

안녕하세요! JKSS brings you our fifth episode from another BBQ place!

Today, JKSS went to a Korean style BBQ buffet! Camellia is walking distance from University of Hawaii at Manoa, located on Beretania Street.

This restaurant was very different from our last BBQ experience at Gyu-Kaku. It was self-service oriented buffet with tons of food to choose from! That is not to say that there weren't any services either! The staff member came around three times to exchange the grill plate because we kept on burning our meat... They also consistently refilled our water glass, all with a smile!

To find out about the answer to today's blog title, tune in to our fifth episode!

Da Shrimp Bus

Aloha everyone! Joey took a trip to North Shore to bring you our third JKSS いただきます episode!

Giovanni's shrimp is parked on a field just off to the side of Kamehameha Highway in a small town called Hale'iwa!

The eatery, which appears to be a white bus discovered out of a junk yard, is much easier to find if you can locate the only McDonald's in Hale'iwa. It's right across from it! But the best way to find the bus is to roll down your vehicle window and follow your nose!

Giovanni's shrimp plate has a ton of garlic in them; A great way to build stamina if you're going to surf nearby!

Gyu-Kaku 牛角!

いらっしゃいませ! This is the second episode of いただきます with JKSS!

Today, we'll take you through Japanese style BBQ lunch special!

First and foremost, I have to give it to all the talented employees at Gyu-Kaku. They all spoke English and Japanese, explained the menu in detail, and constantly checked on us to see if we needed anything. Thank you for helping us, you've completely exceeded our expectations!

The interior is very much Japanese, with each table arranged in a semi-cubicle for a bit of privacy, yet capacious enough for us to enjoy the atmosphere. They even played Japanese music!

Tune in to our second episode (8:49) for the full report!

We had a great time!
